Tips for Arranging Furniture Around Your Fireplace
The fireplace room is one of the best areas to bond and relax with your loved ones. Hence, making this the centrepiece of your home is only ideal.
You can create the desired ambiance by setting up the furniture in a manner that is most conducive for the purpose of your room. If you have the fireplace in your entertainment lounge and you have a flat screen television, it would be advisable to place the TV above the furnace. This will make it easier for you to decide on the seating arrangement. Just make sure, however, that you put some sort of barrier to prevent the heat from the furnace from overheating your television.
Meanwhile, since it will be a place for relaxation, choose furniture pieces that are practical and are oozing with comfort and warmth. Sofas, lazy boys, love seats, and other cushy and upholstered furnishings can be distributed around. You can also use wooden items to create a more countryside feel. Place your sofa across the furnace, setting a maximum distance of 12 feet to make sure you are still near enough to feel the warm flames when you snuggle up to view your favourite family movie. A single couch or love seat can be located perpendicular to the fireplace, giving you the perfect spot to curl up with your favourite book as you read beside the crackling fire. Another seat can be placed across the single couch. You can also add some pillows for that extra cushion. If you would like to have an area to play board games, make puzzles, or place your steaming mugs of hot chocolate, a coffee table in the centre of the seats in front of the furnace is the best spot.
